Motorsports are fun but unfortunately cause a lot of pollution purely for entertainment. "NASCAR races, for example, emit around 4 million pounds of CO2 each year," according to MotorSportWeek.com. Today's sim racing technology has become quite advanced and keeps getting better. With the rise of international esport championships and the Gran Turismo movie the popularity of sim racing is higher than ever. Although it can't replace the full thrill of real motorsports, there are some advantages sim racing has over motorsports such as convenience, safety, anyone can compete easily, the ability to simulate races of historic cars that can no longer be raced today and it's much more environmentally friendly.
Gaia Sim Racing is an environmental fundraising project that aims to raise awareness of the effects of motorsports, not so motorsports can be banned but to encourage solutions to be found. We encourage donations to environmental projects by allowing donors to set up a sim race with cars and track of their choice which can be watched via live stream. There will be at least 1 minute of racing per $1 donated.
